Numerical study of using perforated conical turbulators and added nanoparticles to enhance heat transfer performance in heat exchangers

The current study investigates the two-phase turbulentnanofluid flow insidein a heat exchanger tube equipped with novel type of conical turbulators having two parallel rows holes, for first time.The range Reynolds number was between 4000and20000 under turbulent regime and uniform wall temperature condition.Water is considered as base fluid TiO2 nanoparticles volume fractions of0–2.5% are added second phase to fluid.The effect insert turbulators, holes fraction on field,average Nusselt number,friction factor performance evaluation criterion(PEC) have been numerically investigated.The results show that proposed create vortices recirculating currents significant transfer.As ofthe increases,Nusselt increases obviously.However,the presence also reduces friction andpressure drop related lower resistance in path.In general,the use perforated improves PEC by creating controlled flows.Onthe otherhand,the useof enhances transfer.The presented increase up to43% compared smooth tube,if parameters determined properly.The maximum of1.43 obtained at M=8,N=4 Re=4100,which shows good othertypes turbulators.
